Dirt School

Dirt School was awesome!!!

I'd definitely recommend it to anyone. The Yoda for the day was Andy Barlow

(current Scottish national XC champ). He's a really nice bloke and is

Within 10 mins he had me manualing better than I've managed to do in years.

Simply move all your weight back and hang off the back of the bike... Simple!

You're arms are strait the tension…

First map

The first map is now up. There is even files for use with GPS devices and Google Earth. To make things easier maps have *MAP* at the beginning and the end of the post title.

i.e.
*MAP* example title *MAP*

When more maps are up I will make a map contents page.

*MAP* Bridge Of Don Loop *MAP*

This is a easy 5.1 mile loop of the Bridge of Don. The surface varies from tarmac to wet mud. There are several roads to cross, one of which is a country road. So care should be taken.

The nature reserve is a favourite spot for families and dog walkers, so again care should be taken.

This symbol denotes a hazard

So I set off on my local route. I travel along the main road until I… Continue

Winter

The days are short and cold. The weather is grey, wet and windy.

Winter is such a different riding experience compared to summer. Everything changes, lines into and out of corners are completely different and can change in a matter of hours.… Continue

Welcome to Bike Scotland!!!!

I got into mountain biking this year, and when I say "got into" I really mean it!!!

One problem I've had is finding new places to ride. As I'm based in Aberdeen I've been going to places like the Lecht, Pitfichie and Kirkhill forest as well as some small trails in the Bridge of Don.

With this site I hope to attract other like minded people to join and share information and locations that otherwise people just wouldn't know existed.

All abilities are welcome and… Continue
